Kampo medicine is the Japanese traditional medicine which has its roots in ancient China. After traditional Chinese medicine was introduced to Japan in the 5th and 6th century, it developed independently according to the typical climate and culture of Japan. |

Kampo medicines are prepared from combining ingredients such as roots, branches, leaves and flowers of plants as well as minerals.
The kind of remedy is decided according to the symptoms and body’s constitution, but in Kampo only fixed combinations and standardized proportions are used according to the classic medical literature.
The systems of combination of medicinal herbs are established through thousands of years of human experience, and are therefore time-tested to be effective and safe.
